Grant, vacate, remand. Two sentences, no parade: cert granted, judgment vacated, back to the Ninth Circuit to try again in light of Mullin v. Doe, 609 U.S. 324 (2026). That is the Court saying 'try again with Mullin v. Doe in mind,' not 'here's who wins.' the petitioners are Mullin, Secretary of Homeland Security, et al.; respondents are the National TPS Alliance. It's a clerk's letter from Scott no opinion, no reasoning, no dissents. and importantly, the order decides nothing about TPS, Venezuela, or deportation; those words appear nowhere in the Court's substantive text (only in the party caption). The only legal content is the citation to Mullin v. Doe, 609 U.S. 324, plus the Rule 45 timing provision. The mandate will not issue for at least thirty-two days under Rule 45. Now Breitbart's headline—'Supreme Court Allows Trump to Deport 300,000 Venezuelans,' A GVR allows no one to deport anyone; it is a referee restarting play, not ending the game. They say the it approved nothing. They quote the order as 'Petition GRANTED. Judgment VACATED and case REMANDED,' attributed those words appear nowhere. The actual sentence begins 'The petition for a writ of certiorari is granted.' Quoting secondhand and getting a version that doesn't exist, two-for-one error. They also quote the TPS statute the ruling states no such thing. That likely comes from the Mullin v. Doe opinion, though the order itself does not say.
